This newly teen-adapted musical was announced at the 2024 Hauncert and is something completely different from the musicals that West has previously seen.

Despite the show being a step out of this theater department’s comfort zone, they are putting all their efforts into the production of this show.
“These kids are so talented, I’m really proud of the cast. They are doing a fantastic job,” one of the directors, Emma Barth, said.
The story is jam-packed with Greek mythology, love, and so many more things in the multi-layered tale.
One of the other differences, that West’s theater audience isn’t used to, is that this show is almost completely portrayed through songs, with very few spoken parts.

Because of the show being so new, the cast and crew have been able to make their ideas come to life on the stage.
“This cast and crew want to make and create art, and I love getting to be a part of that and help guide them,” Hillary Hines-Holl, lead director of Hadestown: Teen Edition, shared.
With a solid amount of upperclassmen returning to the musical this year, there are also a lot of new faces
that are taking on bigger roles than before.
The returning seniors are Tyler Charlett, Faithe Streily, Lyn Southhall, Gabby Namoff, and Maddi Norell.
“The rest of our leads are sophomores and juniors, so I’m really excited that we have a couple of years for them to grow,” Barth added.
“I mean, I’ve been having a lot of fun, I definitely didn’t expect [being the lead] but its been a lot of fun,” sophomore who is portraying Eurydice, Lena Hemp shares.
You can see the show in the Normal West auditorium at the following times: April 25 at 7:00 pm; April 25 at 1:00 pm (Understudy show) and 7:00 pm; or April 27 at 2:00 pm.
