We went out asking Normal West students about movies, specifically the new films and ones that were coming out in the future. We wanted to see what types of movies West students want to see for entertainment and discover which genres and films were more prevalent and how they might relate to the amount of hype certain films get over others.

Shayna Fever (12) said, “I’m excited to see Finding Dory because I liked the original Finding Nemo.”

“I’m excited to see Finding Dory because I loved Finding Nemo when I saw it and I thought that Dory was so cute,” said Sydney Burmeister (12).

“I want to see Fifty Shades of Grey, I’m excited to see the 40+ women in the movie theater and to hear the feminist rampage hate that will inevitably surround the release of the film,” said Courtney Wickersham (12).

Nathan Scanlon (12) stated, “For movies that are already out, I want to see Interstellar and for movies coming out, I want to see Star Wars Episode VII as well as the last Hobbit film.

“I want to see Finding Dory when it comes out, I’ve even got a countdown on my phone for it,” stated Lindsey Turner (12).

In total, of these, there was one vote for Fifty Shades of Grey, one vote for Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, one vote for Interstellar, and three votes for Finding Dory. Surprisingly, there were a lot of West students who enjoy children’s films and animated movies.
