The infamous West Fest is set for Friday, May 1. For those unfamiliar, West Fest is a carnival-style event where students and staff get to play games, eat food, and celebrate the end of another school year.
Students will begin their day in first hour. They then will be dismissed to the assembly that’s taking place in the North gym.
When the assembly is concluded, West Fest will begin 9:15-11:30 a.m.
Students will be provided with this map of when and where activities will take place.
Students will have no access to the second floor during West Fest, so they’ll need to plan accordingly, and they will gain access to grab their items when West Fest is over.
West Fest activities include things such as sport games, contests, video gaming, crafting, and more!
The Normal West pool will be open for anyone who wants to swim. NO two pieces will be tolerated and students must bring a towel.
Another staple event is the rock climbing wall. To participate, students will need to have filled out the upper limits rock wall parent permission form. Any student that is under the age of 18 must have parental permission. Students will turn in the signed form to the worker at the Rock Wall. Mr. Berardi and the main office have paper copies.
Mr. Peterson will be taking a group of students fishing, and if you’d like to participate in this, see Mr. Peterson in room 1003 to sign up (by the end of the day on Thursday, April 30).
Students are encouraged to bring credit cards/cash in order to purchase anything from the food trucks and other concessions that will be provided. CASH IS BEST!
The following food trucks will be present:
1- J&J Concessions (funnel cakes & lemon shake-ups)
2- Healthy in a Hurry (buffalo mac n’ cheese & buffalo chicken strips)
3- Blo-No’s Chuy Tacos (Mexican Food)
4- Jurassic Grille (hamburgers & vegetarian offerings)
5- Four American (American foods)
6- Pizza Paya (Detroit-style pizza)
7- Old Tyme Ice Cream Truck
8- All Belgian Waffles
Raffle tickets will be available to students when they participate in certain West Fest activities.
Lastly, the parking lot is off limits to all students. If you are leaving you need to be escorted by an administrator.
Remember to HAVE FUN!
