On Wednesday, December 3, Normal West will host a creative-career fair designed to allow students to connect directly with professionals across a wide range of artistic fields.
The event, held in room 150A/B during the 3rd through 5th hours, aims to help students explore potential pathways after high school and begin shaping plans for their futures.
The fair will showcase opportunities in music, art, dance, theater, interior design, modeling, broadcasting, and more.
Geared primarily toward juniors and seniors, the event will cater to those who are considering careers in creative industries and who are interested in learning more about the post-secondary options available to them.
Students can register for the event through their Schoolinks accounts by navigating to the “Events” tab.
A variety of colleges and programs will be represented, some from the local area and others as far as Chicago.
Several Normal West graduates will also be in attendance, sharing their experiences in fields such as modeling, interior design, and broadcasting with the WMBD TV station.
Additional participants include Illinois State University’s Creative Technologies, School of Music, Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts, School of Communication, and Dance Program; Heartland Community College; Bradley University’s Department of Interactive Media; Columbia College Chicago; WGLT; Illinois Wesleyan University; and Mudita Equine Imagery.
The goal of the fair is to spark students’ curiosity about creative-industry careers and help them begin envisioning a clearer pathway toward success in these dynamic fields.
