West’s production of Shrek: the Musical takes the stage in the auditorium on April 26, 27, and 28.
The cast– made up of a diverse pool of musicians and actors– tells the story of Shrek and his journey through the land of Duloc as he navigates friendship, trial, and romance.
Junior Faithe Streily, playing Princess Fiona, is looking forward to witnessing the show come together after months of hard work.
“It’s been a lot of rehearsals [beginning in January], but… most of the full cast numbers are solid!” Streily comments.
This is Streily’s second NCWHS musical as a leading role, as she played Grace Farrell in West’s 2023 production of Annie.
Other stage returners include leads Seth Meyer (Shrek), Tyler Charlett (Lord Farquad), and Lyn Southall (Donkey), and many others who have been involved in past fall plays and musicals.
Charlett admits that he was initially “anxious” when he found out West would be putting on the production of Shrek, but after listening to the soundtrack and beginning weekly rehearsals with his new-found family, he, “definitely considers Shrek a ‘solid show.’”
Jacob Hughes, who plays Pinocchio, highly encourages the audience to enjoy this family-friendly show, which presents an uplifting message through the lens of an adventurous mission with plenty of humor.
Tickets will be available to purchase online and promoted throughout the school in the next upcoming weeks.
