Lego Movie Builds a Good Reputation
The Lego Movie is great for all ages, and has a great story that entertains all moviegoers. This film has a multitude of great actors; from Liam Neeson to Will Ferrell, this movie is not short of talent. The movie is centered around one man, Emmett, a construction worker that gets mixed up in a plot to stop an evil tyrant.
This movie was actually quite funny, even though it was directed towards a younger audience. There were jokes about all of the different characters, like Batman always making jokes about being who he is. The main character had a comedic role due to him being average and boring.
The effects were great, and the plot made the movie even better. The story was about an evil tyrant named Lord Business who wanted to use a device known as the “Kragle” to destroy any creations that were not his. The movie ended with a plot twist that changed the story’s outlook.
The movie cost around $60,000,000 to make and opening night they made around $70,000,000. So far this movie has made a gross total of $184,015,279, which is great for the movie only being out since February 7. The two directors of this movie, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, have worked together several different times. They have directed Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 1 & 2 and 21 Jump Street. This was perfect for the movie because they had humor, but they still kept the content PG-13.
There was really nothing to complain about with this movie. The voice acting was great and the plot was interesting. The directors didn’t cast an easily recognizable celebrity voice, such as Morgan Freeman, to play Emmett which was perfect for the creation of the character . Even though this movie is directed towards kids; it is still a great family movie for all ages. This movie deserves 4 Lego bricks out of 5.
