“Normal West Softball had a great week last week. The Lady Cats are now 6-8 after 2 really good wins against Danville last Tuesday, April 16th, and a win against Peoria Notre-Dame on Saturday, April 20th, resulting in the 500th Career win for Coach Schermann.
West’s game against Danville was really consistent throughout. Besides a scoreless 2nd inning for West, the Lady Cat’s scored at least one run per inning of the 7th inning game, while scoring a total of 8 runs through the 3rd inning and beyond.
Seniors Jossie Rood and Abbey Horeis both went 3-4 with a combined 1 home run, and 3 RBIs.
Senior Kenzie Fasig had a dominant game as the starting pitcher, and had 7 strikeouts through 7 innings pitched, improving her record for the season to 5-6.
Normal West continued this success against Danville into their next game against PND.
Fasig improved her overall season record to 6-6 as the starting pitcher, having another great game of 7 innings pitched, and allowing 2 runs for the game.
The Lady’s Cats batting success continued, with junior Olivia Kobel, and sophomore Avery White both going 2-3.
Kobel also had 3 RBIs in this game as well.
The team celebrated Coach Schermann’s 500th career win after the game.
Normal West continues its season with a game against Bloomington tonight, Thursday, April 25th.
