Normal Community West’s dance team showcased their talent and resilience at IDTA State on Saturday, February 13, despite competing as a team of only three girls. They placed fifth out of 11 teams in the AAA Division for Hip-Hop, creating a remarkable ending to their competition season. 

Comparing to their IDTA State performance in 2023, where they ranked fourth out of eight teams with a full squad of ten dancers, the team’s achievement this year is even more impressive. 

Despite facing the challenges of a significant decrease in their roster, members Kiarra King, Emma O’Brien, and Ali Hart persevered through these obstacles to demonstrate their commitment and uphold the determination that shapes West’s dance team.

Finishing in the top five at IHSA State concludes a significant victory for this team, and West Dance greatly anticipates the opportunity to display their talents during next year’s season.
