Volleyball’s historic season comes to a close in super-sectional showdown against Mother McAuley

On Friday, November 3rd, the NCWHS volleyball team competed against Mother McAuley in a super sectional matchup, unfortunately losing in 2 sets.

Despite this loss, Coach Mueller says that this has been one of the best teams she has coached.

“This has been one of the best teams I’ve had the chance to coach.  They committed to each other and the process and raised the bar again this year which is impressive after the last two years,” Mueller noted. We broke the school record for total wins in a season which is just a testament to their drive and work ethic.  They were a really close team who enjoyed playing together and for each other which is one of the things I’m most proud of.

The senior leaders conveyed remarkable leadership by holding everyone accountable, building relationships with their teammates, paying attention to details, getting stuff done, and ensuring everyone was loved, trusted, and respected.

To this point, Junior Ellie Rink made first-team All-State, Senior Sydnie Hernandez made second-team All-State, and Senior Reanne Cupples made All-State Honorable Mention.

“I will really miss this senior group but do look forward to next season and can’t wait to see how we can keep improving and getting better,” Mueller admitted.
