On Monday, October 2, the NCWHS Boys’ Golf competed in sectionals at Lick Creek Course in Pekin. They took ninth place with a score of 342, and unfortunately, no team member or individual advanced to state.
“It was a really tough day. We didn’t play particularly well,” Head Coach Matt Hoder admitted.
He says that the team stuck to the regular practice plan, doing the things that they’ve been doing all year.
According Hoder, the biggest challenge for the team was putting, “Pekin is a really difficult course, but we just had a hard time reading the greens, and making short putts.”
Despite their challenges, Hoder says that the team continued to have a positive attitude throughout the game.
