Normal West Volleyball dominates in Intercity Tournament, going 3-1

Senior Sydnie Hernandez had a great Intercity tournament, recording 30 total digs through tournament play. The Wildcats went 3-1.

Currently sitting at #9 in class 4A, Normal West Volleyball is off to a great start.

On Saturday September 23, the Wildcats hosted the annual Intercity Tournament where they beat Bloomington High School and Bloomington Central Catholic High School both in 2 sets.

On Monday, September 25, they beat Normal Community High School in 3 sets, and later on, lost to a tough U-High team, in two close sets. They ended the tournament with a 3-1 record.

Junior Ellie Rink and Sophomore Avery Feltes led the team in overall kills with 66 total in tournament play, (Ellie-36–Avery-30). Rink also led the team with 7 total aces. Senior Sydnie Hernandez led the team in digs, with 30.

On Tuesday, September 26, the Wildcats defeated Peoria Manual in 2 sets, putting their overall record at 20-2.

Today, the Wildcats, currently sitting at 20-2 overall and 5-0 in conference, travel to Peoria Notre Dame for another conference match-up at 7pm.
