Senior Editor-in-Chief, Leah Smolen recently reviewed Renee Rapp’s album Snow Angel.

Renee Rapp returned from Broadway with the emotionally-driven and complex album, Snow Angel. The Mean Girls (2024) star released her debut full-length album and deluxe edition in 2023. The album begins with “Talk Too Much,” an upbeat opening about Rapp’s own overthinking in a relationship (“I’m here again // Talking myself out of my own happiness”). The track itself spans just over 3 minutes and is accompanied with deep guitars and strong ranging vocals.

Other notable tracks include “Swim”, a softer song than the opening track, and “I Wish,” an emotional piece where Rapp pours her heart out about death (“I was ten years old when I realized // Some goodbyes are forever”) over acoustic guitar and melodic notes. Overall, the album contains a mix of danceable pop songs and heartfelt ballads which express Rapp’s intense emotions over growing up, heartbreak, anxiety and more.

The deluxe album contains 15 songs and 1 remix, landing at 48 minutes and 41 seconds. Renee Rapp will be embarking on a European Tour in 2024, and in the 2024 Mean Girls Musical in theaters as Regina George. Fans of Snow Angel Deluxe may like albums such as emails i can’t send fwd: by Sabrina Carpenter, Midnights by Taylor Swift, or MUNA’s self titled album.

Final Rating: 8/10
