Dr. Egebretcht to retire
Dr. Egebrecht is one of the threes assistant principals at Normal Community West High School and this school year is her last; she will be retiring. Dr. Egebrecht has been at Normal West for 13 years and has inspired many students to graduate.
She really enjoyed watching students grow older and succeed during the four years they attended Normal West. Being an assistant principal is never boring; she said, “there are such a variety of tasks and duties to respond to.” There’s almost never a time that there aren’t students in her office. Dr. Egebrecht loves her job and what she does to help young adults achieve their goals in high school.
What’s really exciting is that this year is the 20th anniversary and she was also here for the 10th anniversary. She said, “it’s pretty awesome to be able to celebrate such great years here at Normal West.” Dr.Egebrecht has received three different degrees from three different universities, proving she is dedicated to her field.
Some activities she would enjoy after this year would be to move back to Chicago so she can be close to her family. Dr. Egebrecht has five brothers that live there and she has three kids, two sons and one daughter. Dr. Egebrecht has a two- year- old grandson who she loves to spoil. She hopes to spend more time with her family after retirement and enjoy the community.
Dr. Egebrecht will be missed. Students at West like and respect Dr. E. Jordan Watkins said, “Dr. Egebrecht was one of the coolest assistant principals at West.” The Paw Print hopes that Dr. Egebrecht enjoys her last year here and always remembers that it’s a great day to be a Wildcat!
