The 37th annual FFA auction was hosted on Saturday March 9th. Many family and friends attended to support both Normal West High School and Normal Community High School’s FFA chapters by participating in the auction.

Many local businesses, including Rader Family Farms, The Olive Bin, and Town & Country donated auction items to be sold.

Over the course of the last couple months, the shop classes at Normal West were able to create a metal working table for the auction. This became one of the most profitable items sold at the auction.

Many came together to provide a wide array of things to bid on.

The auction is a combined effort with Normal Community’s FFA and the profit goes to support both chapters.

This year there were 160 tickets sold, and they raised a grand total of $17,000.

The auction being one of the biggest fundraisers of the year, the profit helps to support FFA activities that happen throughout the year.

Two Normal West Seniors, Kaitlyn Monical and Talia Pierard, received scholarships from the FFA alumni. Both of them have been dedicated FFA leaders since they were freshmen.

During the auction, FFA officers had the opportunity to walk around displaying items to the audience, as well as speak in the opening and closing ceremonies.

They also shared some of their FFA experiences and some of their favorite memories.

Having the message of FFA being sent to some of the junior highers in the audience, possibly inspiring them to join FFA and some Ag Classes when they come to highschool.
