Ty Berry, Contributing Writer
Ty Berry, a senior in their first year on The Paw Print staff, is a passionate writer, creator, and justice seeker who believes there’s a story in everything. With a love for poetry, jewelry-making, and baking, Ty thrives on creating things both for themselves and others. Ty recently competed in the Illinois Gwendolyn Brooks Poetry competition and earned a top 5 finalist honor in their grade level, with more than 800 students across the state competing. Ty earned a certificate of creativity. In addition, they even run a small jewelry business. A fan of indie music, underground artists, and even 1940s jazz bands like Buddy Moreno and his orchestra. Drawn to journalism as a way to combine their love of writing with a drive to uncover truth, Ty sees it as a pathway to a meaningful career.
