Wildcat volleyball secures 3rd straight regional championship

The Normal West volleyball team won their 3rd straight regional championship last night. They will play in Pekin on Tuesday, October 31 for the Sectional semifinal game.

The Normal West varsity volleyball team, which continues to have a historic season, won their second game in Regionals on Thursday, Oct. 26th, in 3 sets. The Wildcats played Bradley Bourbonnais High School in East Moline.

Normal West started off with a win in the first set 25-15, but lost in a close fight 23-25 in the second set. They eventually got the win in the final set, winning 25-18, in a hard fought game for both Normal West, and BBHS.

Junior Ellie Rink dominated the game, with 15 digs and 16 kills.

Sophomore Avery Feltes had 15 kills, as well. Combined, the two girls had 31 kills out of the team’s total of 50.

Normal West will take on Minooka High School on Monday, October 30 at 7 pm in Pekin, IL.
