On Wednesday, September 28, the NCWHS Boy’s Golf team competed in regionals, winning 3rd place with a score of 322. With this score, the team advanced to sectionals.
Coach Matt Hoder explains that Regionals “was kind of a tough day, and they played well enough to advance to sectionals…”
He says the team practiced every day leading up to Regionals and played on the court where Regionals took place before, so they were familiar with it.
A team member Hoder would like to shout out is Jack Wenzel, a senior, who he says, “had a really, really good year…the last three tournaments, he’s won as an individual.”
Sectionals will occur on Monday, October 2nd, at Lick Creek Gold Course in Pekin, and before then, the team will practice, try to keep getting better, and become more consistent.
