In two days, Sunday, Jan. 19, TikTok, an app used by 170 million American citizens, will be banned in the United States due to foreign security among other fears.
Today, Friday, Jan. 17, the social media company, ByteDance, tried to fight against the ban, arguing that it was against the United States’ First Amendment.
However, the Supreme Court ruled against it, going through with the ban.
Originally known as ‘Musically,’ the app has existed for nine years and has served as entertainment for many Americans.
The app will not be gone immediately, but TikTok will get removed from the app store and slowly die off due to glitches because the app won’t be able to update to fix them.
