Apple reveals newest products
The newest iPhone was announced last Tuesday, September 9. The iPhone 6 will have a 4.7-inch screen, which is larger than the previous model. Also revealed is the new iPhone 6 Plus, which will be even larger with a 5.5-inch screen. The iPhone 6 Plus will also have longer battery life, however it will cost $100 more for the upgraded version.
The new phones will be sold in the U.S. on September 19. They will be sold at a starting price of $199 for the phone with a 16 gigabyte hard drive. Additional memory for the phone will cost extra. Apple said that their new phones will keep the 8 megapixels for the camera, but they will be adding new sensors for a better shot.
Apple also revealed the Apple Watch, which is a brand new product for their company. This is most likely to rival the Samsung’s Smart Watch. The Apple Watch can call people like a regular phone, and it is said to have an app that will let you make purchases without cash or a card.
Ashton Thomas, a senior at Normal West said, “I am probably going to get the new iPhone, but not when it comes out. I’m not paying hundreds of dollars to get it right away.” This poses a question as to whether the iPhones are worth the money that people spend on them. However, there is no doubt that Apple will sell millions of phones on the day of its release.
Matt Votoupal, a senior at Normal West said, “I will probably end up getting the newest phone, but maybe not on release. I don’t think I want to pay a ridiculous amount for practically the same thing that I have now.” The prices of iPhones are keeping some people from buying the new versions, and this may prove to be a problem for Apple.
