Above, Mrs. Peterson’s 7th Hour Advanced Art Class poses with their latest work in the IMC. Together, this class brought a sketch to life through paint and natural creativity.

The IMC has recently gotten a colorful, and rather historical, new addition to the walls and atmosphere.

Earlier last semester, Mrs. Kailey Peterson and her 7th Hour Advanced Art class approached Mrs. Hafermann about any new projects that she had in mind to possibly brighten up the IMC space.

That’s when Hafermann informed them of 3 different spaces that she thought could use a bit more color.

The students all came up with ideas for each space, but they realized that it would be easier and much less stressful to focus on one specific area. That’s when they all decided that the non-fiction section could be fancied up, especially because the wall on the opposite side of the non-fiction section already has 4 amazing looking pieces.

Junior Natalie Sokulski came up with the original sketch of the paintings for the nonfiction space, and she had the 7th hour class make their own interpretations of the colors of the sketch. Once they finished, they painted each letter on a bigger canvas and put them above the non-fiction section to really make the area pop.

Thank you to Mrs. Peterson and her 7th hour Advanced Art class for making the library feel more like a comfortable space and adding another touch of color in the space of knowledge!
