Automakers roll out brand new 2015 tricks

For some auto manufactures, the new year brings out new model year trucks in late fall. Two of the top trucks makers, Chevy and Ford, all have brand new models of trucks for their ½ and ¾ ton truck line up.

Ford is releasing the brand new 2015 F-150 with a new twist later on this year.  The new F-150 is the strongest model Ford’s ever built with military grade alloy and high strength steel, which most trucks don’t have. New power train options for the F-150 include the 3.5 v6 Ti-VCT (variable camshaft timing), 3.5 Ecoboost V6, and the 5.0 V8.

The new 3.5 V6 has a new design with twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) and it comes with cleaner burning Flex-fuel capability. The 3.5 Ecoboost delivers the kind of power you’d expect from a V8 with the kind of efficiency you’d expect from a V6. And the trusted 5.0 eight-cylinder power with twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT), variable valve overlap for traditional V8 power, performance and capability plus it is also flex-fuel capable.

“Out of all the new trucks coming out for 2015, I’d definitely choose the new F-150,” said Codie Meows, junior.

The new Chevy 2500 HD line up of trucks for 2015 are revised and better than last years’ production run.  The new 2500’s an all-new quiet interior eliminating road or engine noise in the cab with all new weather-stripping.  Engine options for the new 2500 HD are the 6.0L Vortec V8 gasoline engine or the powerful 6.6L Duramax diesel engine.

“The new Chevy trucks are very impressive, my next truck would have to be a Chevy,” said Eric Neuber, senior.

Chevy’s Vortec 6.0L Variable Valve Timing V8 SFI engine is the new 6.0L with the raw power and fuel saving technology for better mpg. The engine produces 360 horsepower along with 380lbs of torque at the flywheel. The 6.0L engine has cylinder deactivation and Electronic Fuel Injection for better mpg numbers and has better horsepower.  The New 6.6L duramax is rated at 397 Hp and 765 torque at the flywheel.
