The NCWHS Future Farmers of America (FFA) represented the school at the 96th Annual FFA Convention & Expo held in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the Lucas Oil Stadium and Convention Center last weekend (November 2-5).
The group spent three days at the convention learning and interacting with other FFA members from across the country.
“We went to sessions where we listened to awards being given, guest speakers, and the retiring addresses of the National Officers,” senior Brooke Sikora states. Sikora is the reporter for NCWHS FFA.
“At the convention, there were shopping centers, leadership workshops, and a career and college expo,” Sikora added.
FFA is a youth program across the country which supports agriculture education. At NCWHS, members participate in club activities, leadership opportunities, and team bonding.
The group traveled to Indianapolis by bus, taking 11 FFA members, sponsored by Ms. Caitlin Hays.
“It really was about having fun, making connections to the organization, and learning more about leadership,” senior Talia Pierard expressed. Pierard is the President of NCWHS FFA and has participated in FFA for four years.
NCWHS FFA looks forward to attending the Annual FFA Convention again next year, as well as planning new activities and meetings throughout the year to prepare.
